Design and construction of 86 homes (28 houses and 58 flats), 60 of which will be for affordable rent and 26 for shared ownership.
The project comprises a mix of one to three bedroom flats and two to four bedroom houses, being built on the former Hemel Hempstead Royal Mail sorting office site.
All houses on the scheme will meet Code for Sustainable Homes, 'Level 4', whilst the flats will achieve 'Level 3'. The project is registered under the Considerate Constructor‘s Scheme with a target to achieve a minimum score of 35.
The main challenges have been the development of a traffic management and logistics plan, to take into account the access route via the town centre's one-way system for the project and constructing alongside a live business environment.
