At this year’s online awards, Higgins has been successful in winning three bronze Considerate Constructors National Site awards for its projects Woolwich Reach, Chobham Farm Zone 2 and Clapham Park.

The awards recognise the highest performing construction sites against the scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice which monitors how considerate the site is being towards the local community, environment and workforce. To achieve the awards requires a high performance with only 694 National Site Awards presented from a total of 6,026 eligible sites.

Steve Leakey, Managing Director of Higgins comments, “These National Site Awards are extremely important to us as they set a benchmark for the industry and acknowledge those that have made the greatest contribution to improving the image of the construction industry. I would like to congratulate all our teams on thoroughly deserved awards.”

Considerate Constructors Scheme Chief Executive, Amanda Long said: “On behalf of the CCS, I would like to congratulate all 2020 National Site Award winners. Achieving any level of CCS National Site Award requires dedication, effort and commitment to raising standards of considerate construction and we are delighted that many CCS-registered sites have achieved the exceptional level of performance in order to receive a National Site Award this year.”

“The CCS awards are fundamentally about how the construction industry can achieve more in raising its standards so our local communities, the environment and those that work across the industry receive positive engagement before, during and after a construction project takes place. It is about putting the community at the heart of considerate construction, and we look forward to more construction activity performing to such high standards and even higher standards in the future.”
