Islington Council appoints Higgins on two lots of its New Build Construction Framework

Islington Council has appointed Higgins on two lots of its New Build Construction Framework. Lot 2 covers projects with a value of between £5 million and £20 million and Lot 3 for projects over £20 million.

Higgins already has an established relationship working closely with Islington Council on some major projects which include phases one and two at King Square Estate, N1, delivering 140 new homes, a new community centre and an upgraded community nursery; Bramber House, Holloway, N1 providing 34 new build and social rent properties, a new library and Ivy Hall, Crouch End, N4 the design and build of a new community centre and 23 new council homes.

Steve Leakey, Managing Director comments, “We have worked closely with Islington Council on a number of award-winning projects over the years and are extremely pleased to part of the Framework again and continue our successful partnership. We look forward to working with the Council over the next four years delivering new homes for the Borough.”

The framework was open to contractors that are experienced in new build refurbishment, repairs and maintenance work across different sectors including residential, education, health, community and mixed use schemes in order to maximise the opportunity for the Council to deliver best value.
