Christmas Community Round-Up: supporting our communities this festive season

Posted 23/12/2025

This Christmas, the Higgins teams have been supporting local communities, charities and families who need extra help during the festive season. From foodbank donations and fundraising to volunteering, we are proud to give back where it matters most.

Supporting Foodbanks and Families

At Hayes Town Centre and Avondale Drive, we donated to Coldharbour Lane Baptist Church, supporting Hillingdon Foodbank and local residents in need. At Saxon Wharf, we supported St Alfege School Foodbank Collections, with our teams and supply chain partners generously contributing almost £1,000 to purchase essential provisions for families.

Our head office teams collected non-perishable food items for Epping Forest Foodbank (Trussell Trust), alongside a large donation of toys for children under Social Services Child Protection and those living in deprivation. Thank you to the Pearlie Queen of Clapton, Teresa Watts, for coordinating the distribution.

Site Teams Giving Back

Across our sites, teams supported food banks in their local areas, including:

·       Deptford Landing donated essential food and toiletries to Lewisham Foodbank.

·       Hartopp and Lannoy supported Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank, with additional financial donations from our subcontractors to help the local community.

·       In Hackney, our team continued their support for Hackney Foodbank, which currently supports around 750 people each week.

Fundraising and Volunteering

Our teams also wore their festive knits in support of Save the Children UK, raising funds to help improve the lives of children around the world.

Colleagues volunteered at local Christmas events, including the St Luke’s Community Christmas Fayre and the Silver Friends Christmas Party, helping to deliver festive activities, meals and entertainment for local residents.

A huge thank you to our teams and supply chain partners for their generosity and time. These efforts reflect our continued commitment to supporting the communities we work in and helping to spread festive cheer.
