Priory Heights, Slough

This project is one of nine that we have secured after being appointed as sole provider by Catalyst Housing Group on their four-year Fire Remediation Works Main Contractors Framework. We were selected as the most experienced and capable contractor following rigorous selection and tendering procedures and building upon a successful track record of delivering similar projects for Catalyst.

Priory Heights is supported by the Building Safety Fund and therefore we quickly engaged the required team to achieve a meaningful start to works by 1st September 2020 to secure the required funding.

We are currently undertaking surveys and investigations of the key interfaces and details at Priory Heights in partnership with our Façade Engineer consultant, Cowells. These will identify any non-compliant aspects so that we can continue to work with Cowells developing a remedial design. Our proposed solution will be tested to BS 8414 at the Fire Protection Association’s test facility in Moreton in Marsh to ensure the ongoing safety of residents as well as compliance with regulations.

As with all our projects, stakeholder engagement is a priority to ensure minimal disruption for residents. The top floor is constructed of timber frame, which presents its own challenges. We will be supporting residents in temporarily moving out of their homes as we expect to fully deconstruct the entire through-wall in order to fire-proof the timber frame before reinstatement.

Priory Heights is situated on the outskirts of an industrial area. Our delivery schedule and routes are being carefully considered in consultation with the local businesses to prevent disruption to their day-to-day operations.
