Higgins has completed 201 new mixed tenure homes at Clapham Park, Clapham for Metropolitan Thames Valley.

The £60 million project forms part of the wider improvements to the Clapham Park Estate which will eventually deliver more than 2,500 new homes, with 50% affordable, along with a new community hub with community centre, new shops and a minimum of 4.18 hectares of high quality open public space.

The new homes are situated adjacent to Kings Avenue, Clarence Crescent and Headham Road in London’s SW4 and are spread across three new precincts and range in heights from four to six storeys.

Steve Leakey, Managing Director of Higgins comments, “We are extremely proud to be part of the major regeneration of Clapham Park and deliver new homes for the local community. As well as the 164 private sale homes and 37 affordable, we have built a brand new nursery, new estate roads with parking, further underground parking which will provide much needed facilities for families in the borough.”

Higgins is continuing its partnership with Metropolitan Thames Valley with its appointment to the £44 million contract at the former Shredded Wheat factory site in Welywn Garden City, Hertfordshire which will deliver 52 Shared Ownership properties, 106 for affordable rent and 50 homes exclusively for the over 55s.

The Shredded Wheat Factory south site will deliver high quality homes that are geared at fulfilling the housing needs of the local community. Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council approved plans in December 2019 after close consultation with the local community.
