Bow River Village Phase 2, Tower Hamlets

Following the success of Bow River Village phase one, we were appointed by Southern Housing Group to deliver phase two of the development in Bromley by Bow, East London. Bow River Village is a multiphase, mixed tenure residential development, replacing a collection of derelict warehouses, the development sits in a formerly disused area alongside the River Lea.

The Phase 2 of the development has been designed by John Thompson & Partners Architects and delivers another 112 new homes of mixed tenure comprising of 23 Affordable Rent, 16 Shared Ownership and 73 Market Sale. The homes range from one, two and three bedroom apartments to one and two bedroom Duplex’s. The new homes enjoy views of the River Lea with the riverside walk also being revitalised. New public realm was created for the local community to enjoy as part of the regeneration of the site.

The Bromley-by-Bow project raised several opportunities in relation to Commitment to Social Value and Responsible Procurement. As combined, Higgins, Southern Housing and LB Tower Hamlets dovetailed procedures to deliver: a detailed responsible procurement programme, Local Labour, Apprentices, Schools Programmes, Work Experience, Local Sponsorship and Fundraising in Partnership with Tesco.
