Dan Court, Wembley

We worked closely with Catalyst Housing to review the construction of Dan Court, an occupied U-shaped block containing 138 mixed tenure apartments, following changes to building regulations.

We worked closely with our Façade Engineer, PRP to design a replacement cladding system which we then supplied and installed, using Multivista technology to capture a digital record of works ensuring a Golden Thread of Information.

Dan Court’s residents enjoy expansive outdoor space with a central courtyard and programmed works in phases to maintain their use of this area as much as possible. We also took advantage of this space using it to provide a resident respite area providing a quiet retreat during works outside their homes. This accessible space was used to carry out extensive consultation activities such as ‘Meet the Contractor’ presentations and ongoing resident surgeries. We have now re-landscaped all external areas that were affected by the works and incorporated additional planting as an enhancement.

Jereca Tefari, a resident of Dan Court praised us: “My experience with Higgins has been a ... positive one. Despite there being a pandemic which could have caused a disruption, it’s been great that the work has been able to continue to go on as well as to go by so quickly. Although the cladding works were noisy at first, the workers tried their best to keep the noise down and they have definitely been able to get through everything rather quickly despite there being a pandemic, which meant us residents at Dan court didn’t have to put up with it for very long. It’s nice to know that myself and all the residents will now be a lot safer in the future.”
