Wornington Green, Notting Hill

We have worked closely with Catalyst Housing to review the construction of the four blocks completed as Phase 1 of their Portobello Square regeneration scheme. The blocks are clad in a combination of glazed curtain walling, Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) cladding, aluminium rainscreen cladding and insulated brickwork and render. Our remediation design follows a linear route to compliance and has been carefully developed with Façade Engineers, Fassaden + Architektur + Technik.

We began engaging with residents early on, carrying out socially distanced consultation appointments with individual residents living nearby the chosen investigation locations. Three of the apartments were purpose built for wheelchair users and our Stakeholder Engagement Plan incorporates consulting with them during development of our Project Fire Safety Plan to ensure their personal emergency escape plans are incorporated into our site logistics and methodology.

This is an extremely confined city centre site which has required creative logistical solutions. Our main site accommodation is located a short walk from the blocks with small satellite welfare facilities set up at each block.
